Ana: Olá, José! Sabes que dia é hoje?
José: Claro! É o 25 de Abril. Hoje celebramos a Revolução dos Cravos de ‘74.
Ana: Pois é. Foi o fim da ditadura e início da democracia em Portugal.
José: Exato. Antes disso, as pessoas não podiam falar livremente nem escolher o governo.
Ana: E havia a guerra nas colónias. Muitas famílias sofreram imenso com isso.
José: Sim, mas a revolução mudou tudo, felizmente. Hoje temos liberdade!
Ana: E é por isso que este dia é tão importante. Celebramos a liberdade e a democracia.
José: Ainda bem que vivemos num país livre!
Ana: Sem dúvida. Viva o 25 de Abril!
José: Viva!

Ana: Hello, José! Do you know what day it is?
José: Of course! It’s April 25th. Today we celebrate the Carnation Revolution of ’74.
Ana: That’s it. It was the end of the dictatorship and the beginning of democracy in Portugal.
José: Exactly. Before that, people couldn’t speak freely or choose their government.
Ana: And there was the war in the colonies. Many families suffered immensely with that.
José: Yes, but the revolution changed everything, fortunately. Today we have freedom!
Ana: And that’s why this day is so important. We’re celebrating freedom and democracy.
José: I’m glad we live in a free country!
Ana: Absolutely. Long live April 25th!
