Ana: Olá Pedro! Estamos no equinócio, não é?

Pedro: Equinócio?! O que é isso?

Ana: É a altura do ano em que o dia e a noite têm a mesma duração.

Pedro: Ah! Eu dei isso na escola. Agora já me lembro. É quando o sol está alinhado com o equador, não é?

Ana: Exato. Isso acontece duas vezes por ano: agora ao início da primavera, por volta de 20-21 de março, e depois no início do outono, ali por volta de 22 ou 23 de setembro.

Pedro: E isso faz com que a duração do dia e da noite seja igual, não é assim?

Ana: Ora aí está. O equinócio marca a mudança de estação, neste caso a passagem do inverno à primavera.

Pedro: Mm, a partir de agora os dias começam a crescer. Que bom!
