Carla: Olá, eu sou a Carla. Como se chama?

Luís: Olá, Carla. Sou o Luís, muito prazer.

Carla: Prazer, Luís. Está a gostar da festa?

Luís: Sim, estou. E a Carla, também está a gostar? 

Carla: Também. Diga-me, já está reformado ou ainda trabalha?

Luís: Já estou reformado, felizmente. 

Carla: Felizmente!? Não gostava do seu trabalho?

Luís: Sim, gostava, mas nos últimos anos comecei a sentir que era trabalho a mais…

Carla: Entendo. Em que área trabalhou? 

Luís: Sempre na hotelaria. Comecei como rececionista e fui subindo até chegar a gerente de hotel.

Carla: Uau! E o que gostava mais no seu trabalho?

Luís: Gostava muito do contacto com pessoas de todo o mundo. Era muito social e nenhum dia era igual ao outro. Aprendi muito.

Carla: Imagino. E o que gostava menos?

Luís: Os horários. Trabalhei muitas noites, fins de semana, feriados… Era muito cansativo.

Carla: Acredito que sim, mas pelo que me disse, parece que o saldo foi positivo.

Luís: Sim, sem dúvida. Foi exigente, mas muito gratificante.

Carla: Isso é o mais importante!

Luís: Yes, I am. And Carla, are you enjoying it too?

Luís: I’m retired, thankfully.

Carla: Thankfully!? Didn’t you like your job?

Luís: Yes, I did, but in recent years I started to feel that it was too much work…

Carla: I see. What field did you work in?

Luís: Always in hospitality. I started as a receptionist and worked my way up to hotel manager.

Carla: Wow! And what did you like most about your job?

Luís: I really enjoyed meeting people from all over the world. It was very social and no two days were the same. I learned a lot.

Carla: I can imagine. And what did you like least?

Luís: The working hours. I worked a lot of nights, weekends, holidays… It was very tiring.

Carla: I believe so, but from what you’ve told me, it seems that the balance was positive.

Luís: Yes, without a doubt. It was demanding, but very rewarding.

Carla: That’s the most important thing!
