Extrapolando agora a metáfora do cavalo para o nosso dia a dia, este provérbio incita-nos a aceitar com gratidão aquilo que nos é oferecido, sem procurar defeitos ou razões para reclamar. Em situações onde algo é dado de boa vontade, devemo-nos focar mais no gesto e menos no valor material ou nas imperfeições do presente.
Translation
This proverb means that we shouldn’t criticize or question the value of something that is offered to us.
Extrapolating the horse metaphor to our daily lives, this proverb urges us to accept with gratitude what we are given, without looking for faults or reasons to complain. In situations where something is given willingly, we should focus more on the gesture and less on the material value or imperfections of the gift.
